If you have a problem with rape and degradation of women, you won't like this. I'm in temptation to tag this as guro but since there are not any explicit violent and raping scenes I won't. But this story is quite disturbing in its own unique way.
The story is set around 1910 (give or take a few years). Every year, Lord Nicola A. Bradherley, one of Europe’s leading aristocrats, sends his coach round to various orphanages to adopt little girls and trains them to join his opera troupe. But most of these girls never make it onto the stage — a far more sinister fate awaits them, sacrificed in the name of the greater good. I won't give any more spoilers. The story is a bit unrealistic but believable to some degree so it's all good.
The art is exceptional as expected from someone like Samura. He designed a lot of dresses in this particular manga. Some look terribly wrong and stupid but there are some really nice ones (oh my, fashion critic now).

ReplyDeleteSo I guess you don't have a problem with the rape and degradation of women then? Fucking Pervert, the fact that this stuff exists makes me sick.
