Ernest Le Vampire

Did anyone ever watch this cartoon? I used to watch it when I was a small kid and I used to shit bricks every time I see it. It was one of a kind cartoons. I always thought that the main character is an elephant not an vampire. -_-

Does anyone have this? I would sure like to download this and watch it every night kyaaa. It's not even on imdb which is strange.

Suehiro Maruo - Mr. Arashi's Amazing Freak Show

This is perhaps the most popular work of all Suehiros mangas. The plot to me felt like an really sad desperate romantic tale (despite that this is ero-guro genre). The main character is a small girl who somehow ended up working as an slave in a circus ensemble. She is there abused and beaten for sheer enjoyment of others. One day an mysterious dwarf appears and he sets his eyes on the little girl Midori. I'll stop here not to spoil the rest of the plot.

The art of is classic Suehiro. Firm and steady lines, everything geometrically even, psychedelic and utterly grotesque yet so beautiful. I'm such a fanboy. -_-

It's also worthy to point out that this has been adapted to an anime. It's banned in Japan but it circulates around Europe by the name "Midori". I have this and I'll post it when I get the cd back from Zmaj. :P

It's kinda weird that it was banned because of explicit images. You can tolerate tentacles, rape, pedophilia and mutilation in animes but you can't tolerate a bunch of weirdo cripples? WTF?

Shintaro Kago - Labyrinth

Ever since I was a kid I liked to run around buildings thinking they were huge mazes. This habit never really wore off, I still wander aimlessly among buildings for some reason this is very enjoyable to me. The story of this one shot is kinda similar. A person is returning home and she realizes that the whole city is an huge maze. Soon everything is slowly turning into mazes. Funny but very peculiar at the same time.

Shintaro Kago - Superglue

Ah another classic. This one is about some weird glue like splash that appears everywhere. If a person touches this splash the person becomes too afraid to move his body part of it. Thus it acts like a superglue. Of course Shintaro takes this to the utmost extreme. So basically; business as usual.

Hell Season (Ero-guro compilation)

Perhaps the most famous guro compilation. Has all (or at least most of them) the big faces of guro. Each artist contributed with one story except Shintaro who did two (one in color yay!).

Artists included (in order of appearance):

Shintaro Kago
Uziga Waita
Horihone Saizou
Masato Tsukimori
Mitsuka Hattori
Tataiko Ochi
Henmaru Machino
Asuka Siraisi
華麗王女
Jun Hayami

It sure is a nice bunch. The stories vary in style and plot but you know what to expect. ;)

Shintaro Kago - Iwa and Izaemon

The fascination with body and grotesqueness taken to extreme would be the best words to describe this little one shot. Basically a man has an ugly wife, he then stumbles on a group of people who also have ugly wives and then they show off to each others, or something like that. :D

Shintaro Kago - A Certain Hero's Death

Imagine, that the roles of whales and humans were swapped. So whales (or whale-like creatures) would be rather small, able to talk and smart. Humans would be large, stupid and hunted by whale-people. Then shake this all in the slightly insane head of Shintaro Kago ad you get this peculiar one-shot.

-_-

Here's me trying to impresonate chan memes on mah notes.

Kaoru Fujiwara - Fetish

Oh well here's an lovely little manga! Fetish is obviously about fetishes. But don't get hasty! This is not some stereotypical hentai (it's not even hentai a little bit) it focuses much more one the plot and the human dread. As I said before this manga revolves around fetishes. There's 5 stories total and all are extremely well made. The characters really feel alive and realistic. The fetishes are not your standard leather and whips but much more hmmm indirect fetishes and the stories explore a lot the human mind and its desires. The art is also very good and firm. No shabby lines or chaotic drawings. Everything is perfectly in sync and realistic. From what I saw a lot of sites put this under josei genre. Which is to some degree understandable but I don't really see this as an full girly comic, it's actually very morbid. It's also scanned and translated perfectly. Recommended read!

EF - Give Me Beauty... or give me death!

So I'm feeling a bit post rock~ish again. This is usually due to weather, I always listen to post-rock when it's extremely cloudy or extremely clear. :S

In any case. I'm sure I posted this band before. Well this is pretty much the same thing as so if you liked it go get this one as well! This was their first full length from 2006. It's a bit less polished from the newer one but I like this one as well. Sooo moody ahh

Suehiro Maruo - 28 Scenes Of Murder

Also known as "Bloody Ukiyo-e in 1866 & 1988" this wonderful 97 page beauty portrays 28 scenes of murder. Personally I think this is so far the greatest artistic achievement from Maruo. It is far, far more detailed from the last artbooks I posted. The color is also much better and more compelling. Each murder is acompanied by an text describing (in English and in Japanese) what happened and why.

Many of Maruo's illustrations depict graphic sex and violence and are therefore referred to as contemporary muzan-e (a subset of Japanese ukiyo-e depicting violence or other atrocities.) Maruo himself featured in a 1988 book on the subject with fellow artist Kazuichi Hanawa entitled Bloody Ukiyo-e (江戸昭和競作無惨絵英名二十八衆句), presenting their own contemporary works alongside the traditional prints of Yoshitoshi and Yoshiku.

Everything is well scanned and well preserved. Enjoy this or dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

The Calm Blue Sea - The Calm Blue Sea

The Calm Blue sea is an rather new-ish band among the sea of post-rock bands. It's, well, post rock. It has everything post-post rock bands need in terms of instruments and composition. It's lovely and beautiful yet it can sometimes be very dull. Decide for yourself.

Am I being sued? :S

Jun Hayami - Maggot Hole

Hoho. Haven't posted anything disgusting and offensive in a while.

I was very surprised with this one. The story of course is very typical. A couple of guys kill and rape an underaged teen. While stereotypical for guro comics this one is particularly well drawn and every page is in color. This is more an showoff of the artists skill but still worth the read/watch/whatever (despite that there are no lines haha).

Endstille - Navigator

Beyond the reeeeeeeeeeef.

Anyway.

Oh Endstille. I'm pretty sure I mentioned them before. Well this is my favorite full length from them called Navigator. It's about, well, war. I guess they are similar to Infernal War but not quite like them. Infernal War is much more hmm repetitive. Endstille is far more superior and more thought out (pretentious right here yes).

Not to prolong my dull writing.

Does anyone remember this?

Man this game had such awesome music.

Middle 9 - Swing and Circle On The Fluyt

I don't know about you but I really like this cover. So minimalist yet so detailed and warm, I love it waaaaa.

Middle 9 is a band formed by the current four members in Osaka, Japan in 2003. Their first album that contains 9 tracks “SEA THAT HAS BECOME KNOWN” will be released on September 26, 2008. It has been about 2 and half years since the last mini album that contains 5 tracks, “Swing and Circle on the Fluyt” (April 26 2006 / CATUNE). Their style might seem to be moderate at first since the members play Vibraphone and ES-335. However, the stages actually have a reputation for a powerful groove and totally active performances that lift audiences at one burst. This instrumental band has not only the dynamism of live music but also high creativity for the sensitive sound as you can see in their works. Adding a trumpeter as a support member, their new album contains some party tunes which interweave funk and jazz. These tracks are built by their great sound sense and give a stylish mode to the first full album. The CD will be out on their private label “LYON”. The members themselves did artwork as well as recording and mixing on that self-direction label. The mastering engineer is SAEmastering / Roger Seibel who worked on TORTOISE, HIM, SUNRA and also the previous album of Middle 9.

Catchy and very laid back post rock. If you are into post-rock you should check this one out!

Hiroaki Samura - Hitodenasi no Koi (The Love of the Brute)

If you ever dwelled into the world of Japanese animation or comics (MANGA OK, I KNOW) you most likely heard about Blade Of The Immortal in one form or another. Ironically I read pretty much all of his works except Blade Of The Immortal (I guess I'm keeping the best for the end haha).

Anyway. Before Samura went to make a name for himself he did some guro for several magazines. Hitodenasi no Koi (The Love of the Brute) is an illustration series of adult themed pencil drawings (extreme violence and sexual material.). The illustrations were published from 1998 to 2006. The series jumped from one publication to the next and featured in both erotic and pornographic mangabon and tankoubon such as "Tokyo H" and "Manga Erotics F", youth and art magazines such as "QUICKJAPAN" and "Comickers", before finally being collected in an artbook.

I looked for this for quite a while untill I finnaly recived this from a friend that found it somewhere burried in GuroChan.

I could explain his works and his technique for days but it would not make any sense. His works are exceptional and unique. Definitely download this if you appriciate art and the grotesque. Sadly some pages are poorly scanned but over time I managed to find different and better scanned versions of some of these pages. Not to damage the scanners work I left all of his scans but I also provided the supplement link of other scans I found over the net as well as one coloured version.

Highly recommended.

Check out the finer version I posted later on.

More Noise For Life - Thrash Mosh EP

More Noise For Life. Ah such an catchy name. They are (or were, I'm not sure if they split up) an fast thrashy powerviolence from Japan. They did not release a lot of things and this seems to be their only release that leaked through the net. Officially it got out in 1998. I always admire bands who put up so many songs on a small 7'' and they managed to squish 10 songs into this small vinyl.

Anyway in terms of sound this is dirty fuzzy powerviolence at its best.
