Hiroaki Samura - Hitodenasi no Koi (The Love of the Brute)

If you ever dwelled into the world of Japanese animation or comics (MANGA OK, I KNOW) you most likely heard about Blade Of The Immortal in one form or another. Ironically I read pretty much all of his works except Blade Of The Immortal (I guess I'm keeping the best for the end haha).

Anyway. Before Samura went to make a name for himself he did some guro for several magazines. Hitodenasi no Koi (The Love of the Brute) is an illustration series of adult themed pencil drawings (extreme violence and sexual material.). The illustrations were published from 1998 to 2006. The series jumped from one publication to the next and featured in both erotic and pornographic mangabon and tankoubon such as "Tokyo H" and "Manga Erotics F", youth and art magazines such as "QUICKJAPAN" and "Comickers", before finally being collected in an artbook.

I looked for this for quite a while untill I finnaly recived this from a friend that found it somewhere burried in GuroChan.

I could explain his works and his technique for days but it would not make any sense. His works are exceptional and unique. Definitely download this if you appriciate art and the grotesque. Sadly some pages are poorly scanned but over time I managed to find different and better scanned versions of some of these pages. Not to damage the scanners work I left all of his scans but I also provided the supplement link of other scans I found over the net as well as one coloured version.

Highly recommended.

Check out the finer version I posted later on.

  3. I have a policy of not reading more than 10 mangas at the time and since I'm reading 14 mangas currently I don't want to bourden myself with yet another one haha.

As soon as I finish Biomega and several other mangas by Nihei Tsutomu I'll be able to dedicate my time for Blade Of Immortal and Ohikkoshi (doesn't seem much interesting but I'll read it anyway)which is another one of his short stories.

Thanks so much for sharing your scans. I've been really curious about this book since I saw a few pics floating around, but never came across the entire thing.

I'm so torn about what to think about this book because on one hand the drawings are amazing works of art and they're 'just art', no one is really being hurt. But on the other hand, his ability to draw so well and capture emotion makes the torture in the scenes that much more terrifying. This book makes me think about how much Samura is holding back when he draws Blade of the Immortal, even the worst violence in that series is like K+ compared to this.

    But thanks again for sharing.
