Zaum - 2014 - Oracles

Even though the stoner metal scene is riddled with generic copycats and Sleep worshiping every now and then a band will pop up that offers something a little bit different. Zaum is a Canadian band that takes those middle eastern influenced sounds of Dopesmoker and rides with them in fifth gear on the first two tracks. They're atmospheric, massive and just right enough length to not get obnoxiously boring. The riffs might not be the second coming of Tommy Iommi but they do an excellent job of conveying hypnotic feelings. After those two tracks the albums switches to a more OM influenced sound (especially on the last track) which are admittedly less interesting than the A side of the album but are still enjoyable in their own right.

Sasquatch - Sasquatch

Sasquatch was formed in Los Angeles, California in the year 2001 by Philadelphia transplant Keith Gibbs and Detroit native’s Rick Ferrante & Clayton Charles. Sharing the stage with some of LA rock’s finest, Fireball Ministry, Nebula and Unida has helped the band become a local favorite and developed a name that is synonymous with quality kick ass rock. Drawing on influences from 70’ metal, rock and psychedellia their songwriting approach is simple and mainly relies on the theories of feel and technique, a sorely missed aspect of most modern day rock amalgamations.

They aren't very famous nor did the exactly reinvent the genre. But it is some good old school stoner rock fun. It has the groovy riffs, the distorded guitars and those signature vocals that a lot stoner rock bands tend to have.

Boris

Ah Boris. I have listened to a lot of bands (yay for internet) but Boris will always have a special part in my little wooden heart. Funny though, now that I finally did all this I have no idea what to write. I thought I should write some humongous text to go along with all of this but I don't really have anything constructive to say. So anyway, people who are beginning with this band will most likely ask themselves "Where to start?". Well that's a tricky question because Boris is an very diverse band they changed styles a lot of times. But here's my advice. If you are into drone then you should start off with Absolutego, then with Solomon volumes and then with Dronevil. If you are into sludge then you should start with Amplifier Worship. If you are into stoner metal/hard rock then start with all famous Pink album and Heavy Rocks. If you are into experimental and unusual then go with Soundtrack for film "Mabuta No Ura". That's little advice what I can give. Either way shall we start?

This is the full discography except the DVDs which I haven't found so if someone has them please share it with me. :D
