Pelican/Mono Split

Well this is an rather interesting split. The common thing about these two bands is that they are both instrumental and well, that's pretty much all they have in common as I see it. Pelican, well Pelican plays doom metal but in very different fashion because they tend to drift off to other genres as well and there's no doubt that a lot of sludge influence is also present but not to complicate with genres let's just say it's doom hehe. Anyway! I guess an comparison with Cult Of Luna in terms of sound is a good call. Mono on the other hand plays very much straightforward post-rock but with much more focus on the atmosphere and sound then on rhythm and technical aspect of playing. They have a nasty habit of making loooong songs but that's tolerable since their sound is very sweet. Yearning is my favorite song by them. Anyway this is a great split not to be missed.
