Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle

I FEEL LIKE I COULD TAKE ON THE WORLD!

Said one day by some tentacle and thus one of the most amazing adventure games began! I played this when I was a little kid. My father used to translate me everything and I would point and click everywhere. Ah, such fun times.

Anyway, I'm sure you all played this. Right? Well if you haven't here's the chance. I managed to find an ISO image version with everything so there's cinematic sequences and everything else. The graphics are still good so all you graphics elitists should be able to swallow the DOS graphics (which I find to be much more fun from today graphics).

I don't want to ruin the plot for you so I'll skip that part. There's also a lot of information on Wikipedia anyway.

CombatWoundedVeteran - This Is Not An Erect, All-Red Neon Body

Combatwoundedveteran is a powerviolence/grindcore band from Tampa, Florida. They played in a style differing from the first generation of power-violence bands, and were influenced by and sounded like bands such as Charles Bronson. Combatwoundedveteran took influence from a variety of different musicians and bands, ranging from early math-rock such as Drive Like Jehu, to Grind and Power-violence bands like Assuck and Man is the Bastard.

This Is Not An Erect, All-Red Neon Body is some sort of album/compilation. Has plenty of fast grindcore-ish songs and an totally awesome memorable cover. :D

Tony Takezaki - A.D. Police

The AD Police are an elite group of highly trained and specially equipped police officers who have been formed to deal with terrorist activities and Boomer robot crimes in the city of Megatokyo. They are more heavily armed and equipped (including power armors like the K-11 and K-12) for a normal police force, but too lightly for a military organization.

The AD Police are offered a great deal of leeway in their activities, often blockading large sections of the city and causing great amounts of property damage in the course of fulfilling their duty. Despite their dedication to their jobs, however, the citizens of Megatokyo tend to dislike and distrust members of the AD Police, seeing them as corrupt and ineffectual.

Take Wolf Brigade, Ghost In The Shell and Patlabor (to some extent) then mix it and you get this. :D

There's nothing spectacular about this one nor artistically amazing. It's just sci-fi/cyberpunk mastrubation and I love it.

Tsutomu Takahashi - Blue Heaven

The world’s largest luxury ship 'Blue Heaven' saves a wrecked ship out at sea. At the captain’s command, the ship is searched, and 2 male survivors are rescued. On the ship, there are signs of horrible bloodshed. One of the rescued men, of unknown nationality, loses himself among the ship’s passengers and starts randomly slaughtering the patrons and staff.

If you are in the world of manga you mostly likely heard of this guy. He has quite an repertoire of popular works like Jiraishin (which I highly recommend btw.), Sidooh and Skyhigh (Jigoku Shoujo ripped this one completely).

Blue Heaven is one if his lesser known and I don't really why it is because it's also great (but not that great if you compare it to Jiraishin :P). The story might sound a bit like some thrashy horror flick but the story is developed very well and there are many interesting characters and equally interesting stories behind them. The art is actually something similar to Hiroakis, but that's just my way of seeing things. I could be wrong ahah! Anyway, recommended for fans of thrillers and murder stories.

Infernal War - Infernal War

Infernal War is a black/death metal band from Czestochowa, Poland formed in 1997. Their lyrical themes are death, hatred, satanism, anti-Christianity and the Second World War. So basically all the stereotypes of black metal is here completed with the totally cool clothes n' paints.

Despite this - flaw - I really like them. These guys don't mess around. From start to finish this little tape blasts all the way with no resting. Fast, brutal and technical (to some degree) is the trademark of this band. Really good songs. I have this on tape but this is not my rip. I'll scan the tape covers soon enough. It's basically an compilation of their works so it's a good place to start.

Jiro Matsumoto - A Revolutionist in the Afternoon

A collection of five short stories:

1. A Revolutionist in the Afternoon

4. Takeyama's Life - A vampire, who is not really into the whole gothic vampire thing.

I did not post anything from this artist haven't I? Hm, well, It's about damn time I do!

Another great, great, great artist I really like. So far he published 5 of his books and I read about three of them (if I remember right haha!). The first thing that struck me was his very unique way of drawing. There's no other manga artist quite like him. His style is characterized by drawing lots of short curly lines (kinda like in a sketch). At first it looks very chaotic and unprofessional but with further inspection it's actually very organized and detailed pice of work!

The stories vary a lot and I don't feel like explaning all of them but there's an good review here if you really want to know what you are downloading. Most of them are pyschedelic in nature (I suggest listening to Jimi Hendrix or some spastic jazz while reading).

Baphomet

Baphomet were an death metal band from the USA back in the day. Most of it were standard demo stuff, nothing too interesting. The only notable thing they released was their full length called The Dead Shall Inherit. Cheesy as it sounds this album quite br00tal for the time it was released. So if you are in the mood for some old school slam slam death metal get this. I also found their second demo from 1989 that you folks can check out.
